Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is often referred to as the body's "garbage removal" system. It picks up all the cellular waste, bacteria, cancer cells, or anything else harmful which is why it's so crucial to our overall health. When we have a sluggish lymphatic system, our immune system is more likely to be functioning poorly as well.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a form of manual therapy and was pioneered by physician, Dr. Emil Vodder and his wife Ester Vodder. Rather than working with muscle tissues, it is a light skin stretch and soft pumping technique. The purpose of MLD is for the therapist to direct built up lymphatic fluid to the correct lymph nodes so they can drain properly. No massage oil or creams are used for true manual lymphatic drainage. Anyone can receive MLD treatments for total body wellness.

What does MLD help with?

  • Boosts the immune system

  • Flushes out toxins stored in the Lymphatic System

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Eases discomfort for autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome

  • Relief from sinus issues and allergies

  • Helps to rid bloating, puffiness, and swelling

  • Stimulates the sympathetic nervous system to reduce stress
